HearCaptions is an accessibility and communication support app that provides real-time captions and optional audio amplification/clarity controls for conversations. This Privacy Policy explains how HearCaptions handles user data.
HearCaptions does not collect, store, sell, or share personal data.
The app does not require users to create an account and does not ask for personal information such as name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, or payment information.
HearCaptions requires access to the device microphone in order to process spoken audio and generate real-time captions and/or audio output.
Microphone audio is processed locally on the user’s device. Audio is not uploaded to a server, transmitted over the internet, stored by the app, or shared with third parties.
Users can stop microphone access at any time by stopping the app’s listening/captioning function or by revoking the microphone permission in Android settings.
Captions and audio processing are generated on-device. HearCaptions does not save conversation audio or caption text.
The app is designed to work without requiring an internet connection.
HearCaptions does not use advertising services, analytics tools, tracking technologies, or third-party marketing SDKs.
HearCaptions does not use the internet to send audio, captions, or personal data to external servers.
HearCaptions does not share user data with third-party services.
If future versions of the app include optional third-party services, this Privacy Policy will be updated before such features are introduced.
HearCaptions is not specifically directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
HearCaptions is not a medical device, hearing aid, diagnostic tool, or treatment app. It does not diagnose, treat, monitor, cure, or prevent hearing loss or any medical condition. Users with hearing concerns should consult a qualified healthcare professional.
